Happy winter, everyone! We hope that you are staying happy, healthy, and active during these winter months.
You may or may not be in serious training for the 2016 Senior Games this August in Fairbanks, but the AISG board and volunteers are deep into planning and preparing for the Games. Part of that involves getting this Web site ready for a flood of new and updated information, and we’ll be making a lot of changes and additions in the next few months. This year is a qualifying year for the 2017 National Senior Games in Birmingham, Alabama, so it’s all the more important that we help athletes compete and qualify for those Games.
At the moment, a lot of the information here is about last year’s Games. A lot of it will probably apply to the 2016 Games, but not all. So feel free to peruse it to start getting ready and excited, but the details will probably change a bit. And if you have any questions, please contact us using any of the methods on the Contact page. We’d love to hear from you!
Here are a few dates you need to be aware of:
- Registration will open around May 1, 2016.
- Early registration discount will end July 15, 2016. So you have plenty of time to register for the lower rate!
- Registration ends July 25, 2016. We’re sorry, but we can’t accept late registrations.
- The Games: August 12-21, 2016!!!
And a request: if you’re at all interested in joining the fun of planning and preparing for the Games and surrounding activities, please let us know! We’ll be happy to help you find a way to contribute that suits your interests, skills, and available time. Thanks!
See you in August! We can’t wait!
