Alaska International Senior Games Founder/Athlete

Jim Madonna and his Lifetime Fitness award

Jim Madonna, founder of the Alaska International Senior Games, passed away March 14, 2015 at the age of 77.

Jim’s passion was running and encouraging others to stay active. His enthusiastic spirit will always be remembered.

A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held at the Pioneer Park Civic Center on April 7th from 4:00-8:00pm. AISG Athletes are encouraged to wear one of your AISG t-shirts.

Tributes will begin at 5:15pm with:

  • Pioneers of Alaska, Igloo #4
  • Alaska Flag Song
  • Alaska International Senior Games
  • Gary Evans
  • Ed Rouleau

Then there will be open microphone time for stories and tributes from friends.

Food will be available at the Celebration. It’s not necessary to bring anything. However, anyone who wants to can share a dish: salads, veggies, or fruit are welcome.

Jim’s stepdaughter, Niki Etcheverry, is coordinating the Celebration of Life.

Donations in Jim’s name to AISG can be made by using the “Donate” button in the right sidebar on the Web site.
